How do I register for NewLawyer?

Registering on NewLawyer is quick, easy, and FREE! All you have to do is fill out the one step registration form. Be sure to provide a valid email address and choose a name and password that will be easy for you to remember.

Will I need to use my credit card to verify my identity?

Yes, your credit card information is necessary solely for identity verification purposes. This is required to also verify that you are 18 years old or over. Again this is for verification purposes only and your card will not be charged for any services you have not used.


What information do I need to include in registration?

The registration process will require your real name, address, a valid email address, and a valid telephone number. This is the phone number that will be used when you are going to speak to an advisor. You will also need to verify your age by providing a valid credit card that matches the information you have provided.


Can I have more than one account per name or email address?

Each user is only allowed one account. Having more than one account on NewLawyer is strictly forbidden, this is stated in the Member Agreement.


Why Can?t I Get Connected?

There are a few reasons why you would not be able to get connected when trying to make a call to an advisor. The first reason is that you have not verified your account. If you have not yet provided a valid credit card number to verify your identity, you will not be able to make a call to a lawyer. Also if you are an international caller, you will have to follow the special instructions for entering your phone number when you register. You can check this by going into your account and editing your Personal Info. Make sure to check that you have entered your phone number correctly. You can check this by going in to edit your Personal Info. Lastly, you may have a zero balance, and will need to make a deposit before making a call.


What Happens if I am not Happy with My Consultation
?

At NewLawyer.com we hope that you always have a satisfactory experience. If there is any reason that this doesn?t happen, we will refund your account up to $25. It is important that you leave feedback for your advisor so that the advisor knows how you felt after the consultation was over. It is crucial for future users to know what type of consultation they will be receiving if they were to call that lawyer.


How do I choose the right lawyer for me?

Depending on the type of consultation you are seeking advice for will determine who you will want to receive a consultation from. However, it is very helpful to read the feedback left by other users. Another helpful factor is that all of the top rated lawyers are featured on the homepage and have top placement within the category pages.


Privacy


Will my phone number and name be disclosed to the advisors who contact me?

No, your private information will stay completely confidential. The lawyer advisors will not be contacting you directly. You will be connected to your advisor through NewLawyer when you hit the Talk Live button. The advisor will not have any of your personal information, and you will not have any of the advisor?s personal information. The only information the advisor will be able to view is your NewLawyer user name.

How can I check my messages?

To check your messages, login to NewLawyer and go to My Messages. If you have any messages, this page will list all unread messages. To view the message click on it and the message will show.


How can I write and send a message to a NewLawyer user or advisor?

To write and send a message to a user or a lawyer, simply click on Send Message in My Messages found on the My Account page.


Feedback


Who can I leave feedback for and how do I do it?

As a user you are allowed to leave feedback to advisors you have received consultations from. You can do so by going to My Account and going to the Leave Feedback section. A list of advisors that you have received consultations from will be shown on this page. You must then click on Leave Feedback. Once you do so, you will then be able to rate the call and leave a comment.


Deposit


How can I deposit funds to NewLawyer?

You can buy credit at NewLawyer by going to the My Balance section in My Account and use PayPal or any major credit card to transfer funds. Funds can be immediately deposited into NewLawyer through your PayPal account.


How can I withdraw funds from NewLawyer?

Withdrawals can be made by going to My Account under the My Balance section. Once you are in the My Balance section you would click the option to Withdraw Money.


Personal Profile


How can I change my password, email and/or personal information?

To change your password, email or personal info, simply go to edit Personal Info in My Account and update to the most current information. Your username, first and last name cannot be changed.

What steps do I take to become an advisor on NewLawyer?

To become an advisor you have to be able to give support and help to your callers. To take the first step, please register by clicking the Give Advice link found in the upper right hand side of the homepage. After you register you can log in and create your advisor Profile. It is crucial to complete all of the steps in creating your Advisor Profile so that the right clients can find you seeking advice in the area of your expertise.


How can I update my advisor profile?

As an advisor you can update your profile under the Public Profile section of My Account. You can update your description, introduction, browse images or upload your own designed page. You can do this at anytime, just by simply logging on to your account, or calling a NewLawyer representative.


How can I view and update my clients?

To view and update your clients or callers, visit the My Clients section after logging in to My Account. Here you can add the NewLawyer users who have called you for a consultation and will be calling again.


How can I create a schedule that my clients can see?

As an advisor you can create a schedule by going to My Account and then viewing the My Schedule section. There you can set the dates and times that work best for you. Please take the time to consider exactly what hours you want to be available to take calls. It is extremely important that you answer all calls that come to you.


Can I Change my Schedule?

Yes, you can change your schedule at any time. You do this by logging on to NewLawyer and going to My Account. Then, select My Schedule and make the appropriate changes. It is important to make adjustments to your schedule when necessary to ensure that you are answering every call from the users.


What happens if I miss a call?

NewLawyer has a very strict policy with missed calls. We have installed a program that scans the site for missed calls. Any advisors who miss calls will be taken off the site for 3 days as a probation period. During that time your profile will not be seen by users and you will be unable to receive calls. If this happens 3 times your profile will be taken off the site indefinitely. That is why it is imperative that you set a schedule that works for you.


What happens when I am giving a consultation and someone else tries to call me?

Your status will show as busy when you are taking a call. Should someone try to call you while you are giving a consultation, they will receive a message that you are currently busy and to try again later or schedule an appointment. This will not show up as a missed call.


What is My Status and how can I use/change it?

When logged in as a lawyer, in the My Account section of NewLawyer you can set your Status. This will tell the users your current status. The statuses you can pick from are: Available and Not Available. Your potential clients also have an option to schedule calls with you in accordance with your schedule and Status. It is important to remember when you are making your schedule that you have to adjust your status also. If you are going to be unavailable during a scheduled time you can do any of the following two things. One is to log on to NewLawyer and manually change your status to unavailable. Your second option would be to call (201) 252-8231 and speak with a NewLawyer representative and they can do it for you right away.


What is a Featured Lawyer and how can I become one?

Featured Lawyers are advisors whose profiles are up on the home page and are listed in the top spots of every category. To take one of those spots you must participate and win an auction for the desired spot through Bidding for Top in My Account.


Refer a Friend


If I Want to refer a friend to NewLawyer, how do I do it?

If you already have an account with NewLawyer simply go to Refer a Friend on the Home page, above the main menu and enter you and your friend?s information. Your friend will then be forwarded more information about the site.


Promotions


How do I view the most recent promotions for NewLawyer?

When you register, make sure you check off the Send me Promotions box in order to receive emails with the most recent deals and discounts. NewLawyer also provides its users and advisors access to all of its most current promotions on the Promotions page, found on the homepage. This page will let users and advisors know exactly what promotions the site is running and when they will expire.
